(December 2010)

"For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder and His Name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, prince of Peace." Isaiah 9:6.

It's hard to believe that Christmas is already here! Let me encourage you to take a good look at all that is going on this month here at the church - and there's probably a few things that have been left out - like the Sunday school & Choir Christmas parties - you sure don't want to miss those! But God has been so good to us here at First baptist and we have much, much, much to be thankful for! I know I'm thankful that Jesus came to earth over 2,000 years ago to save us from our sins! I know I am thankful for that blessed hope we have in Him! I'm thankful I know where my loved ones are that have gone home before me! And I am very thankful for this place of service and for all of you! Patti and I just want to say "Thank You First Baptist Keithville, Merry Christmas and May God Bless you and your family in the coming New Year!" See you Sunday!

(October 2010)

Let me just say again how much I, and all my family, loves First Baptist Church of Keithville. We can never say "thank you" enough for all of your prayers, cards, letters, phone calls, words of encouragement, food and loving hugs during my dad's recent illness and death. I don't know how we would have made it without the Lord and without all of our family and friends. Dad will be greatly missed, but how thankful we are for the blessed hope that we have in Jesus Christ. Because of Jesus and what he did for us at Calvary, dad suffers no more! He is in the presence of the King of all kings and all those who have gone on before. And for all those who know Christ, one day, one sweet day, we too will stand in HIS presence. Amen and AMEN! I love each of you and look forward to seeing you Sunday as we worship together our wonderful Savior & Lord Jesus Christ.

(September, 2010)

Our Fall Church Wide Revival is just around the corner - Sunday, September 26th. This Fall we will have with us Evangelist Joe Aulds and Music Evangelist Price Harris. Please be in sincere Prayer for this effort. These two men of God have been with us before - many years ago and I look forward to what God is going to do in our church family during this time.

Speaking of Prayer - We need to be a part of the 40 Days of Prayer for our Nation that begins September 20th until Election day. Some have asked "Why not start September 11th?" Well, September 20th is 40 days before Election Day in November and our nation desperately needs prayer and REVIVAL. We'll figure out the times soon but in the meantime, please begin NOW making a commitment to be a part of this sincere prayer effort for our nation.

Our new building is coming along and we desperately need to continue to pray that God will protect our church during our building program. We need to always remember that everything we do here at First Baptist is not about us - it's all about Jesus. So, on October 17th, we are going to have a HARVEST DAY for our new building. Begin praying now and preparing now what God will lead you to give to pay down the debt on our new building. Together and with the Lord's blessing - we can hopefully, prayerfully, pay down a good bit on our present debt and for that, we will give God all the glory! One other note, on October 17th as well, our Social Committee is planning a Chicken Charbroil Dinner on the grounds with our church providing Charbroiled Chicken and Iced Tea. As a church family, we will provide all the side dishes and desserts. I don't have to tell you that Keithville First Baptist has the BEST Charbroiled Chicken in the country - well, let's just go ahead and say WORLD!! So mark your calendar now!

Let me be the first to say that we truly welcome our new Worship Leader Keith Beard! Bro. Keith has been with us a month now and has done a great job! Please continue to pray for him as he travels each week to lead us in praise to God.

God is so good and God is truly blessing our church. If you have not been with us in Sunday School, please let me invite you and encourage you to be a part each and every Sunday at 9 a.m. there's a place for every member of the family! See you Sunday!

(March, 2010)

By the time you receive this, we will be almost through with our week of Prayer for North American Missions - "Live with Urgency!" It is my prayers that God has blessed you as you have prayed about sharing God's transforming power and about what God would have you give to the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering for North American mission work. Sunday night, we will have a "Taste of North America" get together during the Evening Worship hour at 6pm. We have special music and speakers! So please plan on being with us Sunday evening.

Speaking of Easter, many events are on the calendar for this upcoming Easter season and on this site you will find the dates and times. I always love Easter when we celebrate the resurrection of our Savior and Lord Jesus Christ from the dead! One extra event this year is our Sharing the Peace of Jesus with Louisiana event. This coming Sunday, March 14, I want to encourage every member to pick up at least 3 door knob hangers that have a short message about our church information. This coming Sunday morning I will share with you what I would like you to do with that door knob hanger - so, come ready to hear and to do a little work for Jesus! Don't panic - It's not hard to do and it's sure not hard to pray!

Speaking of Sunday - Bro. Robert Hoffman, chairman of our Long Range Planning Committee, will be sharing an update on our new building plans. This is an exciting time in our church and God is truly blessing. Please keep this project and our committee in your prayers.

I love each of you and appreciate your faithful attendance to God's House! Pray that God will continue to bless as we move forward for His honor and Glory! See you Sunday in Sunday School.
